After an interesting conversation with his father early in the morning, Luke had gone for a long run.

And then an even longer session alone with the punching bag.

And then he'd tried some meditation.

Now? He'd spread parts to a small droid out all over the floor, back carefully turned away from the half of the room that was supposed to have a Z in it, and fiddled around with electronics.

Loud Corellian rock was blaring from his stereo and out through the open door.

If you asked him? He was fine.

"Have you checked Special Collections?" She chewed on her bottom lip in thought. "I'll help you look, if you want. And just because your dad's getting married doesn't mean he doesn't love her, or remember her, or miss her, you know? Just--he's maybe doing the bravest thing ever by risking all that pain again."

Luke thought about it. "I don't know. What kind of theme music would you have?"

"I'm lots of fun," Luke insisted.

"Something rock," Jo replied after a moment's thought. "With a good baseline."

Luke smiled. "Just remember that if you go up against him. He wins. The rules don't really matter much."

"That's because you're beating on me," Luke exaggerated. "I'm being wily."

And Dawn didn't know the half of it. "Rory's being pretty brave too," Luke admitted softly. "He's...not the easiest person to get along with."

"Not really," Luke admitted. "It'd be kind of a waste of what I've been given, right?"

"Sure you are," she teased, eyes dancing. "I believe you."

Luke smiled up at her. "I think I can hear it."

Luke smacked her with a pillow.

Jo grinned. "You can, huh?"

He started tapping out a rhythm against her stomach. "Sure."

Rikku flailed. And giggled. And grabbed a nearby pillow to retaliate.

Jo laughed, squirming just a little. "I see."

"So maybe it's okay that they found each other? Just maybe?" She reached out to hug him. "If he's that tough, your mom must have been awesome, Luke."

"Oh, I already know I'd lose," she said. "Still, it's worth a shot to learn something. Even if he cheats."

And because it was close, Luke slid her shirt up and blew a raspberry against her skin.

Luke held on tightly. "Very, very awesome," he decided.

"Restarting the Jedi will make me happier," Luke replied. "Maybe I can play miniature golf in my spare time."

"I'll have to spend some time hiding, too," he said with a grin. "It's why I'm taking a class on being sneaky this semester."
