After an interesting conversation with his father early in the morning, Luke had gone for a long run.

And then an even longer session alone with the punching bag.

And then he'd tried some meditation.

Now? He'd spread parts to a small droid out all over the floor, back carefully turned away from the half of the room that was supposed to have a Z in it, and fiddled around with electronics.

Loud Corellian rock was blaring from his stereo and out through the open door.

If you asked him? He was fine.

"And sometimes you don't want anyone stepping into that particular place," Luke replied, "even if he says she's not."

Jo nodded. "That vice principal wasn't the first shotgun incident."

Luke smiled up at her. "I don't think I can borrow your technique, though."

Jo smiled back. "That could make things a little awkward, yeah."

"And I love Rory, but this is just going to take some getting used to. I've always known my father as kind of the brooding loner type."

"He might still brood? Just a bit less alone."

Luke nodded. "It's good to see him smile," he admitted, snuggling closer. "Weird, but good."

"Kinda creepy and unsettling, huh?"

"Like imagining Professor Winchester in a tutu."

Jo tilted her head to the side. "That scarring?"

"He was humming before I came in."

"That's scary."

"I'm pretty sure he thinks he has theme music," Luke replied.

"Would he have hummable theme music?"

Luke thought about it. "I don't know. What kind of theme music would you have?"

"Something rock," Jo replied after a moment's thought. "With a good baseline."

Luke smiled up at her. "I think I can hear it."

Jo grinned. "You can, huh?"

He started tapping out a rhythm against her stomach. "Sure."

Jo laughed, squirming just a little. "I see."

And because it was close, Luke slid her shirt up and blew a raspberry against her skin.

Jo giggled, squirming more.

Luke decided that kissing her stomach might be a better use of his time.

Shockingly, Jo agreed firmly with this decision.

Luke was discovering that kissing Jo was a really, really good way for his brain to shut down. So he did some more of that.

And since his roommate had run away, well, it wasn't like they were getting interrupted.
