Luke wouldn't say that he had been spending the entire weekend hiding in his room, but he'd pretty much spent the entire weekend hiding in his room.

He'd call it "processing."

It looked a lot like brooding.

Yoda was in his tank doing the supportive pet thing. Or sleeping. It was kind of hard to tell.

"Something wrong with going back home?" she asked softly.

"White milk is weird," Luke countered. "What do purple pancakes taste like? Green Jello tasted like green!"

"White milk is normal," Z argued. "I don't know what purple pancakes taste like. Grapes, maybe?"

"Jello dragons and tentacle demons, so far," Joxer said. "And I beat Walter Dornez sparring, which very few can say they've done that."

Luke stared at the ground. "There's nothing there," he said finally.

"I don't know who that is," Luke said. He paused. "I don't know who you are either, though, so I guess that kind of makes sense. I'm Luke."

He frowned. "Not Agnes."

"Maybe," Luke agreed. "They certainly are...purple."

"Sorry about that," Joxer said. He stuck out his hand in offer of a handshake. "I'm Joxer. Some call me Joxer the Mighty, but you seem nice enough that it's totally okay for you to just call me Joxer."

"...literally or figuratively?" Rory asked quietly, because it was hard to tell sometimes, and scooted a little towards him.

"Very purple," she said. "Dare you to eat them."

"Not quite Alderaan gone," Luke said, "but the Empire was...pretty thorough."

"I'm Luke," he replied. "Skywalker. Everyone calls me Luke."

Luke hadn't learned not to accept random food yet.

"Okay," he said, smiling.

"Nice to meet you, Luke," Joxer said. "You ever do any princess saving?" He chuckled.

"Oh, Luke," she breathed. "Why didn't you say anything before?"

"Last week," Luke said, nodding. "Then I blew up a battle station."

Luke was still staring at the floor. "Didn't exactly come up in conversation."

"Wow!" Joxer said, way too excited. "Was the princess pretty? How big was the explosion?"

"You should've said something," Rory said very quietly. "I'm so, so sorry."

Z thought her roommate was adorably gullible. But this didn't stop her from holding out the plate of purple pancakes to him.

"What's there to say, really?" Luke asked. "Has anything people have said to you about my father helped?"

"Yes, very, and the explosion was huge," Luke said, smiling. "Small moon huge."

"Wow," Joxer said. "If I had my sword, I'd pledge it to you right now. I. . . teach me?"

It was Rory's turn to look down. "No. But no one should have to deal with something like this entirely alone, even if it doesn't help very much."

Luke dug in with the enthusiasm a teenaged boy brings to free food. "They taste fine," he said finally. "They're just purple."

Of course, he was from a different galaxy. His palate was a little...different.
