Room 317 [evening]

Luke had decided that since he'd been in his room for a year, it was time to finally put up evidence that he lived there. Since he didn't have stuff, that took the form of photographs and holos of friends: he, Han and Leia right after the first Death Star, he and Wedge drunk later that same night, he, Rikku and Dawn looking giggly and high on sugar, he and Jaina, he and Rory, he and Tori...he and Z.

There weren't any photographs of him and his father (those were stuffed into a drawer at the moment) and he kept taking down Artoo's offering of a holo of him and Gavin believing they were Siegfried and Roy.

Corellian rock music was playing and the door was open. If he was caught staring off into space, well, he might've been reliving parts of last week's date with Jo.

"How else would we know that they are heroes?" Luke said, sitting down on his bed with a small bounce.

Dawn plopped down on the bed as well. "They get this look...like they're going to jump into something stupid."

Luke blushed. He knew that expression all too well.

"It's harder with chocolate, though. Their expressions are hard to read," he said. "Thus, capes."

"And boots," she nodded decisively. "Plus, secret identities."

"There's really no fun without the secret identity," Luke agreed, reaching into a drawer for a candy bar. "Take the brooding and angstful Mister Mars Dark, here. He probably secretly dreams of blowing up planets while hiding behind his mild-mannered facade."

Dawn briefly wondered when Angel became a candy bar. "That's the dark part, right? And the mild-mannered part is important. Can't be a good hero without being mild-mannered in your down time."
