Room 317 [evening]

Luke had decided that since he'd been in his room for a year, it was time to finally put up evidence that he lived there. Since he didn't have stuff, that took the form of photographs and holos of friends: he, Han and Leia right after the first Death Star, he and Wedge drunk later that same night, he, Rikku and Dawn looking giggly and high on sugar, he and Jaina, he and Rory, he and Tori...he and Z.

There weren't any photographs of him and his father (those were stuffed into a drawer at the moment) and he kept taking down Artoo's offering of a holo of him and Gavin believing they were Siegfried and Roy.

Corellian rock music was playing and the door was open. If he was caught staring off into space, well, he might've been reliving parts of last week's date with Jo.

Luke chuckled. "It's a space ship. It's not in the room. Or, sadly, on the planet. Where--or when--are you from?"

"Um... now, I think?" No one had explained the weird time stuff of Fandom to Cassandra yet. "And I'm from... around."

Luke smiled. "You're really new. Are you from this planet? We're on Earth, by the way."

Which would sound very strange to someone who was, you know, from Earth.

Cassandra nodded, "Yeah... you're not?"

"Different galaxy, actually," Luke said casually, then bit his lip. "Your head's not going to explode hearing that, right?"

She shook said appendage, "Probably not? I've heard weirder."

"Really?" Luke asked politely.

Cassandra nodded, "Yeah. Seen a lot of weird stuff."

Luke grinned. "Gremlins? Rancors? Your niece from another dimension?"

"Well, none of those..." Her voice trailed off with an implied "yet".

Luke looked very amused. "You'll fit right in. If you get bit by a gremlin and think you're a gay German magician, Artoo'll take pictures."

Artoo let out a little electronic giggle.

"I heard about gremlins. They sound very weird." Then again, so did a lot of stuff she'd been told about regarding Fandom.

"As far as I can tell, they can't really be negotiated with. They don't hurt you if you're okay with being humiliated for a while."

Cassandra shrugged, the truth was she didn't have enough social skills to know when to be embarrassed or to understand why it would matter if she were. "They don't make people do dangerous things, then?"

"Like fling themselves off buildings? No," Luke said. "I've heard that you might go sing in town, though."
