Room 317 [after classes]

After an interesting conversation with his father early in the morning, Luke had gone for a long run.

And then an even longer session alone with the punching bag.

And then he'd tried some meditation.

Now? He'd spread parts to a small droid out all over the floor, back carefully turned away from the half of the room that was supposed to have a Z in it, and fiddled around with electronics.

Loud Corellian rock was blaring from his stereo and out through the open door.

If you asked him? He was fine.

"There are people in mental health facilities who are a lot saner than my dad," Luke replied, rolling his eyes.

John chuckled, "I'm looking forward to not having to deal with him this semester. I'm sorry you don't have that option."

"Yeah, me too," Luke commented. "He's insisting on Jedi training classes. He thinks I don't know enough."

"Ouch," John cringed. "Sounds like an excuse for him to kick your ass for entertainment."

Luke grinned. "I've beaten him."

"Really? Now that is something I'd pay to see!" John grinned back.

"He'd say that he let me win, but that's totally rewriting what happened," Luke decided. "And I've gotten a lot better since last year."

"Then you'll do great in training," John told him. "But seriously, let me know when and where and I'll bring popcorn."

"And those weird foam fingers?" Luke asked.

"Oh, totally," John said. "What color do you want to represent you?"

"I get a color?" Luke looked a little too excited about that. "How about green?"

"Green is an excellent choice," John said. "I'll put in the order at Turtle & Canary."

Luke smiled. "Thanks. Other than Brooke have you met anyone fun?"

"Other than my new little sib, after meeting Brooke, I was honestly a little nervous to talk to anyone else until things settled down," John admitted.

"I offered to write her name on her forehead," Luke said, "but she turned it down. Who's your little sib?"

"Yeah, I don't know that I'd want my name on my forehead either," John pointed out. "Romeo, you met him?"

Luke shook his head. "I've been kind of scarce myself, except for introducing myself to my little sib, Michael. Who's an actual sibling to some version of Isabel."

"Weird," John crinkled his nose. "Though, after all the doubles this weekend, I'm thinking of creating a newbie day ritual of wearing a nametag emblazoned with all my pertinent historical information."

"Or a sandwich board," Luke said, grinning.

"So long as we're not talking naked sandwich boards, I might go for that," John said thoughtfully.

"Don't let a teacher hear that, we might have to do it to get an A," Luke replied. "Though it does remind me to check and see if Jo was introducing this crop of new kids to shirtlessness. I think it was probably a little cold."

"Wow, you know, Jo got me to go shirtless last newbie day," John recalled the memory fondly. "Good times.

Luke laughed. "I asked her out because I was so distracted."

"Yeah, I wouldn't blame you," he chuckled, and then thought better of it. "I mean, not that I would look, um at all. Ever. Again."
