This isn&#39;t exactly Tosche Station, huh?

Oh, look, there was a Rory knocking softly on Luke's door.

Luke rolled out of bed and padded to the door. "Hey," he said, clearly surprised to see her.

From:

"Hi!" Rory said. "I hadn't seen you for a few days, so I came to see if you'd been eaten by the school or jumped off the roof or something."

From:

Luke gave her a small smile. "Nothing nearly that interesting," he said. "I was just, um, taking some time for myself. Would you like to come in?"

From:

"If you're meditating, I don't want to disturb you," Rory said, completely misunderstanding.

From:

Joxer knocked on the door of what he totally thought was his room.

"Agnes? You decent?"

Sometimes, Joxer was too stupid for words. Today, Joxer was too stupid to realize what floor he was on.

From:

"Meditating?" Luke repeated, looking confused.

From:

Luke opened the door and peered out. "Um, Agnes doesn't live here."

From:

Joxer looked startled, then glanced over at the door and reread the room number.

"You're right," he said, oh-so-slyly. "I was just testing you. Seeing if you'd secretly kidnapped my roommate. And taken her to this room, which is yours, and not mine, and is on a different floor and everything."

"You know, closing your eyes and connecting with the Fo...." Rory trailed off. "Yeah, you don't know about the meditating thing, either, huh? Sorry. It's just quiet...thinking and being peaceful, basically."

Luke blinked. "Did you fall and hit your head or something?"

From:

"Sounds nice," Luke said with a small sigh. "I could use some peace."

From:

"Okay, maybe once or twice on the way back from the diner, but that was entirely because of my usual heroic exercises," Joxer protested.

From:

"Everything okay?" Rory asked, immediately concerned. "Or is it still just everyone being weird about you being your father's son, et cetera, et cetera?"

From:

"Heroic exercises?" Luke repeated.

From:

"Some of that," Luke admitted, walking over and flopping back down onto his bed. "But it had been a long couple of weeks before I arrived, too."

From:

"Keeping on my toes, springing back up from being knocked down, pretending to fall over to get a foe off guard, that sort of thing," Joxer said. "I'm a mighty hero, after all."

Rory carefully shut the door behind her and tentatively went to sit on the edge of Luke's bed. "Because of blowing up the Death Star and Ob...Ben?"

"Okay!" Z said, bursting into the room without knocking because, hi, her room. "I think I have this figured out!" She darted over to the Synthetron and, while consulting the manual, pushed several buttons in succession, then 'enter.'

A plate of pancakes appeared. They were purple.

"Hmm. Maybe not."

"Uh huh," Luke said, not entirely convinced. He leaned against the door jamb. "Ever rescue a princess?"

From:

"I like purple," Luke offered. "Or is this like the blue milk thing?"

"Yeeeeah, milk should not be blue," Z said. She poked at the pancakes. "And I've never seen purple pancakes before."

From:

"Not yet," Joxer said, shaking his head. "I was tracking a giant last weekend, which had kidnapped a really good friend who's nice enough to be a princess, but that's not quite the same thing."

"Among other things," Luke said, chewing on his lower lip. "Let's just say that if the Rebellion hadn't sent me here, I honestly have no idea where I would've gone."
