Luke was putting the last of his belongings into bags and boxes and trying not to be too upset about leaving Fandom forever tomorrow morning.

Outside his alcove, Artoo was selling copies of Fandom's Greatest Humiliations over the last two years for what he felt was a very reasonable price.

Whenever the melancholy threatened to overwhelm Luke, he'd look over at the little droid who'd begin to whistle "Doe, a Deer."

Artoo wasn't big on feeling sorry for yourself.

Luke made a face. "I'll be bunking with the Rogues. And Wes snores."

Z made a face. "I bet Syd does, too."

Artoo beeped insistently, rolled towards Luke's bed and pulled something out from under it.

Luke stared.

"Artoo wants you to have this taser he made for you," he said slowly. "I have no idea."

Oooh, a taser. "I'll miss you, too, Artoo. Er. What am I supposed to do with the taser?"

Artoo beeped out a stream of instructions. Luke looked appalled. "He says it's an excellent deterrent against snorers."

"You think of everything," Z told the droid. Then she turned to pout at Luke. "Can't I keep him?"

"I need him to help fly the X-Wing," Luke replied apologetically. "Otherwise, I'd totally let him stay."

Z pouted some more. "Send postcards! Or...whatever your people have in lieu of postcards. Call. Something."

"I will," Luke promised. "You do the same?"

"Of course," Z promised. "We can complain about our new roommates to each other. Oh, and say hi to Leia. Whom I never met. Are you sure you didn't make her up?"

"If I had, that makes Jaina really hard to explain," Luke said with a grin. "I'll say hi, and send holos from home of me not getting bit by gremlins. It'll be refreshing."

"You're no fun," Z told him. "I like the holos of you getting bit by gremlins. But I'll take what I can get. And in return I can send, I don't know, videos of our giant robot. We're going to have a giant robot, you know." A pause. "This one hopefully won't be made out of IKEA furniture."

"That was strange, even for here," Luke admitted. "And I'm around for any breaking and entering you might need, you know."

"Next time I need to rumble my employers, you're the first guy I'll call," Z promised him.

Luke grinned. "Excellent. Dad gave me the shuttle, so we even have a getaway vehicle."

"Great!" said Z. "Spaceships are way better than Greyhound buses."

Luke made a face. "Definitely."

"Seriously?" Z said. "This sucks. I know, I know, growing up and all, but it sucks. I'm gonna miss you."

Luke nodded, face falling as he moved closer. "Stay safe-ish, okay?" he said, reaching out for a hug. "I'll be upset if you get smushed by a giant robot."

"I'll do my best," Z promised, hugging him tightly. "But you can't get blown up by a space laser, you hear me?"
