Coruscant, GFFA [Tuesday morning, Fandom time]

"Yes, really," Luke was saying to his father over the comlink. "Leia and the babies are both doing fine, according to the meddroid, and they'll be born in a few months."

There was a pause.

"No, I'm not going to tell Han you said that."

Another pause.

"Or that."

And another pause.

"And that's not even physically possible--" he went pale as the voice on the other end continued, "all right, so it is, but you're not going to do that to your son-in-law."

He smiled. "No, no one thinks you're old." Mostly because they thought Anakin was dead, but details. "You're just going to be a grandfather. Okay, okay. Give Juliet and Rory my love. Bye, Dad."

Luke disconnected the call and shook his head, Surprisingly, that had gone better than he'd expected.

Jaina was also on Coruscant in the good ol' GFFA, though there was a slight separation of a universe or two. She had a while before she had to be anywhere, and she wasn't going to be here long enough to try to get involved in anything, so when she got back to her quarters she ended up going through her contacts to see who she hadn't talked to in a while.

Which would explain the incoming call to Luke.

"Skywalker," Luke replied, clicking the comm back on.

"And this makes you the second Uncle Luke I've talked to today," Jaina greeted him with a smile. "Hey, it's Jaina."

It took Luke a second to process that but when he did, he laughed. "Hello! I was just talking about you! Well, the possibility of you."

"I'm scared to ask what that means but I feel like I should," she admitted.

"Well, assuming the timelines pan out and your mom decides she still likes the names Jaina and Jacen, I'll have another niece and nephew in about six months," Luke said.

There was a short pause on Jaina's end of the line. "This is a whole new level of weird," she decided.

And then, "She better still like those names."

"Personally, I think there needs to be another Luke," Luke teased. "Maybe a Qui-Gon now that we know about him...how do you feel about 'Padmé?'"

"I'm already named after one grandmother," Jaina pointed out. "And it would ruin the name alliteration."

"Oh, is the alliteration important?" Luke laughed. "Give me a minute--I'll come up with names that start with the same letter."

And will presumably be terrifying.

"Or just stick with Jaina and save everyone the identity crisis," she suggested, grinning.

"I don't know," Luke said. "I like Bail and Beru."

"You're meaner than I remembered," Jaina laughed. Though she could really see Bail being a possible name choice with her mom.

"Blame it on internal politics," Luke replied with another laugh. "I've been stuck on Coruscant too long. How are you?"

"I'm here," Jaina shrugged. "I'm on my Coruscant, but just for a few days. Then it's back to Fandom for another semester. No internal politics, though, I'll leave those to you."

Luke groaned. "This is going to be my life?"

"Probably not your whole life," Jaina said, trying to sound optimistic. "Think of it as somewhat necessary to do the important stuff."

"I can do that," Luke said, smiling, "or I can try to make Leia do more of it."

"Hey, I think she might have enough to do pretty soon. I'll give you appropriate warning: we're monsters." Plus if she remembered things right, Leia was getting dragged more into the political spectrum as it was. Hence why the Solo kids were raised by a lot of people besides their actual parents.

"Nice, soothing paperwork," Luke mused. "The perfect thing after a long day with twins!"

Not really, Luke.

"And I won't believe you were monsters."

"Of course you shouldn't, I'm only saying that to scare you." Hey, if he didn't really believe it, tiny Jaina could get away with more stuff.

"Oh, good," Luke said, sounding a little relieved.

Jaina smiled, but asked, "What are you up to these days? I'm hazy on details."

"Right now, training your mom when she gets an hour to herself--things are getting kind of weird out by the Unknown Regions. There's some new threat that we haven't been able to put a name on yet. We thought we had all of the Grand Admirals accounted for."

"Uh huh," she said slowly, not sure if she should offer that answer up or not. "This one's a little trickier than most."
