Luke was in his room with the door cracked open a bit as he worked up his courage to deliver the flowers he'd gotten for Jo to her.

Artoo was in the corner letting out squeaks of droid-y amusement as he replayed what he thought of as the greatest hits of Luke's weekend.

Luke wasn't as amused.

Z bounced into the room and, seeing the flowers, said, "Aw, are those for me?" in a totally not serious way.

Luke laughed nervously. "No, they're 'sorry I thought I was the kind of guy who hired hookers' flowers for Jo." He tilted his head at them. "Do they need to be bigger?"

"You hired a hooker?" Z laughed and wiped an imaginary tear from her eye. "They grow up so fast. But seriously? I think they're fine. Very nice flowers."

"Two," Luke moaned, hiding his head under his pillow. "Well, they thought I'd stiffed them."

Beat.

"Not dirty! Not dirty not dirty not dirty!"

Z fell over on her bed, laughing hysterically. "Are you--are you sure?" she gasped out.

"Positive," Luke's muffled voice told her. "I'm the only person who could wake up with two women and still be a virgin at the end of the weekend."

Z blinked. "You're still a virgin?"

Luke was thinking of having the pillow surgically attached to his head.

"...maybe?"

"Oh," said Z. Then she realized this was spectacularly unhelpful. "I mean. Good for you?"

"It wasn't exactly planned," Luke whined. "I grew up miles from anything. Including girls."

Z didn't point out that Luke now lived in a coed dorm and had had a girlfriend all summer. Nor did she ask if there had been any boys around. She just said, "Must have been rough."

The pillow nodded. "My aunt and uncle were very strict," it said. "And this summer...was kinda crap."

"But you had a girlfriend!" Z argued.

Jo figured that Luke had been stewing in his own juices long enough, which was why she was knocking on the door-frame.

Cue the manly "eep!" noise.

"Come in!" he finally stuttered.

Jo bit her lip and opened the door. "Hey."

"I got you flowers!" a bouquet told her.

Mostly because Luke was hiding behind it.

"I can see that," Jo said, biting her lip a bit harder to keep from laughing at him.

Luke's face finally poked out. "Hello," he said, smiling shyly.

Jo smiled back. "Hey Luke."

"It turns out that I'm kind of a giant tool when I can't remember who I am," Luke said, cheeks turning red.

"And a pimp too," Jo added. "Least that's what the radio said."

Luke turned scarlet to his hairline. "That was initially," he muttered. "Then Dawn and Rikku decided I looked like the kind of guy who would pay for sex." He coughed. "And hadn't. Dawn threatened me with a frying pan."

Jo couldn't help it. She burst out laughing.
