After a few hours poking around on the X-Wing with Artoo and a quick check to see if Leia had written--she had, and there was still no sign of Han--Luke flung himself onto his bed and began to practice with the Force.

Yoda was not excited to be one of the things chosen to be juggled.

Seeing Luke distracted, Artoo made his way stealthily towards the door.

"Don't even think about it," Luke said sternly. "Last time you got out, you came back covered in cake."

Artoo whistled innocently. "No," Luke replied.

Artoo made sulky noises and rolled back towards the corner.

Luke reached out to give her a hug. "I missed you!"

Molly hugged him back. "I missed you too. You were gone way too long."

"I know. But I'm a Jedi now," he said, smiling. "I have my own lightsaber and everything."

"Cool!" She smiled back. "And you never had to wear a little braid thingy like Anakin did! Congratulations!"

Luke smiled. "Thanks. I still have a few things to take care, still," he said, thinking of Vader.

"Have you had any classes yet?"

Molly nodded. "Three already. Superheroing 101 and Driver's Ed today and Ethics yesterday." The last was said with a little distaste.

"You're in Vader's class?" Luke grimaced. "Sorry."

Molly shrugged. "He's a jerk, but it should be okay. I just have to remember not to talk back to him," she said with a grin.

Luke's eyes got very large. "You talked back to him?" He snorted. "You should talk to Rory. That's practically her hobby."

"He started it," Molly said defensively.

"Did Rory get detention a lot last semester? I don't want to spend every weekend in detention."

"Well, no," Luke said, frowning. "But Vader's...capricious."

"I just hope he's always not so snippy," Molly said with a frown. "Detention on the first day of classes is not good."

"Believe me when I say snippy isn't the half of it," Luke said. "He's blown up planets."

Molly blinked. "Seriously? Like, by himself?"

"With a weapon called the Death Star," Luke said, eyes haunted. "Millions died." He pressed his lips together. "I killed the Death Star right back. He wasn't particularly...pleased."

Molly had heard about none of this before. "When did that happen?" she asked quietly.

"Just before I came to school," Luke said. He gave Molly a wry smile. "I was sent here so I'd be out of Vader's way. That didn't exactly work according to plan."

"I heard he was gone at the same time you were. Did he follow you back home too?"

"I didn't see him," Luke said. "But he tracked down my friends and tortured them." His eyes flashed. "He's evil."

"Tortured!" Molly was visibly taken aback. "I got the feeling in class yesterday that he would have gotten along well with The Pride," she said ruefully. "I was more right than I even imagined. Are your friends..."

She couldn't bring herself to finish the question. She hugged him again instead. "I'm sorry, Luke," she said quietly.

"Han's in carbonite," Luke said, hugging Molly back. "So he's frozen, but still alive. We just don't know where he is. Leia...is not taking that particularly well."

"Frozen? He can be unfrozen though, right? If you say he's still alive?" Keeping her hands on his arms, Molly pulled back just enough so that she could look up at Luke. "That means there's hope. Your friends will find him and get him out."

Luke gave Molly a small smile. "That's the plan. Vader picked the wrong person to mess with. I've never seen someone as determined as Leia."

He shook his head, trying to change the subject. "Did you have a good holiday?" he asked.

Molly smiled back at him. "I did," she said with a nod. "I went to visit some of my friends who graduated last year. Ray went with me and it was a lot of fun."
