Room 317 [afternoon]

After a few hours poking around on the X-Wing with Artoo and a quick check to see if Leia had written--she had, and there was still no sign of Han--Luke flung himself onto his bed and began to practice with the Force.

Yoda was not excited to be one of the things chosen to be juggled.

Seeing Luke distracted, Artoo made his way stealthily towards the door.

"Don't even think about it," Luke said sternly. "Last time you got out, you came back covered in cake."

Artoo whistled innocently. "No," Luke replied.

Artoo made sulky noises and rolled back towards the corner.

With two cups of coffee in her hands, Rory knocked on the door with her forehead.

Sounds of several objects thumping to the ground could be heard through the door, then Luke's voice calling "Coming!"

He opened the door a few seconds later. "Hi!" he said with a huge smile. "Come on in."

"Hi," Rory said with a tired smile. "I brought you alertness in a cup!"

Luke took one of the cups, a worried crease showing up on his forehead. "Thanks," he said. "Up studying late already?"

He didn't really think that was the problem.

"No," Rory answered, sipping her coffee. "Hi, Artoo. I didn't know what kind of treat you'd like, so I brought you a bow to wear."

She pulled a little bow left over from Christmas from her pocket and offered it.

Artoo let out a series of whistles and squeals berating Luke for never bringing him presents and zoomed over to Rory, burbling happily.

Luke sighed.

"He says thank you."

Rory stuck the bow to Artoo's dome. "You are very welcome. And now, also very handsome."

Artoo totally preened, zipping around in a circle and looking for a mirror to admire himself in.

Luke rolled his eyes, then turned his attention back to Rory. "Not sleeping well?" he asked, taking a sip of his coffee.

"I visited him," she said by way of an answer. "He's back, in case you didn't know."

Z came in sometime after Driver's Ed, looking kind of downcast. "Hey."

"What's wrong?" Luke asked immediately.

Yay for Jedi observation skills.

"Nothing much, I just got reminded I'm not human in Driver's Ed," Z said in a tone that tried and failed to be nonchalant. "By this kid that doesn't have a heart."

Luke's eyes narrowed. "What the hell?" he asked. "Who could have the incredible stupidity to say something like that?"

"Well, he doesn't think he's human, either," Z sort of stammered. "So I guess that makes it sort of okay?" She sounded pretty doubtful.

"Not really, no," Luke said. "There's something called common courtesy. What was his name? I'll buy him a book on etiquette. And smack him with it." Luke gave Z a small smile.

"Um, Demyx. Please don't smack him," Z begged. "I don't want to cause trouble. When I said he didn't have a heart? I think he meant that literally."

"I'm wondering if the brain's missing, too," Luke grumbled, then smiled at Z. "I won't smack him. I'm not sure I could even pick him out in a common room." He pointed towards the food replicator. "Want something to eat? I think Artoo's figured out how to talk with it."

He gave the droid an exasperated look. "Not that he'll tell me what I'm doing wrong. I asked for water and got orange juice a few days ago."

Sometime in the afternoon, Molly stopped by to see if Luke was home. She'd heard he was back on the radio, but hadn't seen him around yet.

She knocked on the door.

"It's open," Luke called. Yoda, back up in the air, sighed.

Molly opened the door and stuck her head in and grinned upon seeing Yoda floating up in the air. "Hey, Luke. You got time for a visitor?"

"Molly!" Luke said, jumping up. Yoda got dropped back into his container with a distinct lack of ceremony.

Luke raced over to the door, grinning. "It's good to see you!"

Luke reached out to give her a hug. "I missed you!"

Molly hugged him back. "I missed you too. You were gone way too long."

"I know. But I'm a Jedi now," he said, smiling. "I have my own lightsaber and everything."
